Located on Natts Lane, Dauxwood provides pre-school education to children in the Billingshurst community from the half term they reach 3 years of age. Ofsted deemed this provision ‘Outstanding’; this is due to the dedication of the staff to ensure that they offer a varied range of activities and challenging experiences.

Dauxwood’s aim is for all children to be happy and enjoy coming to school. Children have fun whilst learning through play, following the Early Years Foundation Stage standards. Children can play inside in the safe, exciting classroom space or alternatively in the secure outside play area. Activities are varied and creative and children are involved in the planning of topics and activities.

Another way in which we help students to feel confident is by running a Pre-start group on Friday afternoons, open to children the term before they are due to join Dauxwood. This is an opportunity for children to become familiar with their surroundings in a very small group of other children, accompanied by their parents. Thus when they begin pre-school they already feel comfortable with the environment.
